Yeah i know, but i really dont care about hp and tq#s i maent a low 11sec pass at the 1/4 mile. 410hp and 470rwtq from what ive seen its bearly put the 5.4 3v in the low 13s i think that sux. Its just crazy how much faster this new 5.0 get down the 1/4 mile with less done to them. I guess the old sayin no replacement for displacement is wrong now a days lol.

Keep in mind that one listed here is a single cab short bed so like 4500 lbs. but the 5.0 does boogie.

I know but what would a single cab short bed 5.4 3v need to run those low 11sec pass? Probably double the psi of this 5.0 and a complete built motor?

4.0 whipple, good tune and some suspension/sticky tires would do the trick i think

I'm wondering if the 6spd transmission made that big of a difference....

It looks like to me they weigh nearly the same, and some of our 3v's make more power.

The 6spd I think does make a difference but here is a 10 5.4 with the 6spd and tune intake exhaust vs a stock 11 5.0.

Even with a tune, intake, exhaust the 5.0 is still putting out more power....

I'm willing to bet the reason they are in the 11's is the 6spd....

If both trucks make the same power, weigh virtually the same, and the only difference is the 6spd.. There is your answer.

I think ur right FATHERFORD that's what I was wondering if the weight is almost the same and similar hp & tq numbers but the 5.0 is a lot quicker in the 1/4. I guess the 6 speed makes a big differenc or the 5.0 revs higher and makes very good power through out all its rpm's I sure would like to see a low 11 sec pass out of a 5.4 3v truck.

From what I recall the Expedition lost a full second in the quartermile when they went with a 5.4 with the 4 speed to the same 5.4 with a 6 speed before the 150 ever got a 6speed.

I'm just driving my truck until ford brings over the FPV falcon and then its gone

I don't think theirs a 4.0 whipple for the 5.4 3v. It would be great to at least get something bigger than the 2.3.something that could make 800+ rwhp on boost only.

It was at PSR in Arizona. They went out of business I believe and I dunno the owner of the truck. There was a video of a silver whippled f150 on drag radials racing a BMW. That truck was there too at the shop awaiting a motor.

the volumetric efficiency of the 5.4l 3v compared to the 5.0l 4v is obviously much different.
plus the advancements in the 5.0L being the only production engine with balanced cam shafts and a new firing order increases the RPM limit and reduces engine harmonics which is catastrophic to all engines when drag racing. ford did their homework the 4.6 and 5.4 are dinosaurs compared to the new line from ford.
