turbo charger on stock 06 F-150 5.4l

hey ive been wanting to put a turbo on my 06 F-150 4x4 do i need to get forged pistons and new heads? ive heard of the stock pistons melting with a turbo? Fact or fiction?: i would appreciate any suggestions...

both, depends on far you decide to push it. If you keep the boost mild you should be able to get a lot of miles out of it.

I think between 6-8 psi you will be fine. Make sure you have a really good tune and the motor should handle it fine. I know STS turbos make a kit for our trucks but I don't know if you will like the idea of their setup. The kits are not cheap but neither is a supercharger.

Depends on the size turbo and the boost its putting to the motor.....

Damn turbos rock, specially on the street. Everyone here in south Tx. Is starting to go turbo and everyone that has say that its the best choice they have made. I've seen one run at the track and it ran an 11.4@ 118 on a 5.3L with bolt ons and cam with only 14psi. So yeah turbo is the way to go more HP with less boost less stress on ur engine and faster.

Damn that your truck? and okay thats kinda what i was thinkin just wanted to be safe than sorry.. those kits come with mounts for the intake and what not?

No it's not my truck... Way outta my price range but as far as I know I do believe they sell it as a complete kit.
