Good supercharger for 07 F150 5.4 4x4 crew cab

My truck is a 07 F150 5.4 crew cab 4x4 with 30k miles and 3.55 gears I want more power but don't want to spend a ton of money. I was leaning towards a whipple style. I want my truck to stay reliable without causing issues with tranny or anything else down the road. Thanks

I'm been running one for 20,000 miles. I think it would do what you want it to. It's not as capable of making crazy levels of power like a twin screw, but to make crazy power you need to crank up the boost and build out the engine to use it.

Stick to 8PSI and you should be fine. 10PSI is ok with a good tune but cost about another $1000-$1500 or so for upgrades including new tune. 12PSI and on is pushing it and honestly shouldnt be used unless you understand that built motor and trans may be in your near future. Not that its guaranteed to happen, just be prepared just in case. I plan to just go up another PSI and add some camshafts for more power and then let the truck be.

thank you everyone for your replies. I think I am going to go with the whipple. Will the standard kit be a noticeable difference? I have read that the stock fuel pump and injectors are ok with the 8 psi but what does everyone think? Who does everyone recommend for a tune? thanks

Get the tune from Mike Troyer and a Mike Troyer valve body for your trans.

I absolutely love my Whipple! However I strongly disagree with Ford Racing approving of the stock injectors for use in the kit. The stock injectors are cheap junk to begin with and now they are going to be pushed to their max. A set of 39lb Ford Motorsport Cobra injectors are suited for the task and will also support 10psi should you ever want more boost. They also fit the Whipple intake which is a huge plus. Get a Troyer valve body and tune. Mike can get you the performance while making the changes needed to keep the engine and trans happy. I'm running insane power through a stock motor following his advice.

As for the question raised earlier about the Roush. It's a fine blower and a great kit. At 8psi it will rob you of about 20rwhp verses the Whipple. This is due to parastatic losses. By 10 psi your losing around 30rwhp. The Whipple and Roush blower can be had new for anywhere from $4200-4920. Depends on where you look and who is having a sale. Yes you need to buy injectors for the Whipple which run $260 but its worth it for the extra power. $260 for 20 or 30rwhp is a deal.

Yes the stock fuel pump will work fine. Once you head for 10psi its pushing it though. Need a boost pump or go for a fuel system. The injectors are p/n M-9593-M39. For what its worth I have a set that I will sale if anyone's interested. Used them for 20,000 miles then up'd the power. Pm me if interested. Don't wanna hi-jack the thread.

I have had the Roushcharger kit on my 2008 Screw for 70,000 miles. Trouble free. Also have the Troyer tune and lower pulley, and Roush (Borla) Si-Do side outlet off road exhaust. I love it ...really makes a 3-ton truck scoot. Those $100.00 premium gas fill ups are no fun, though!
