Lightbulb lightning swap in a NBS

so i still want more power from my 5.4 2v swap
im using the fly-by wire and 4.6 pcm, tranny, tc, etc

i was contemplating a remote turbo setup on the cheap....

i found a lightning motor w80k for 1200 complete. says it has valve damage.
sounds like a complete set up. for now i wanted to bolt the blower on my 5.4. and get rid of those pesky adapter plates.
in the mean time build the L block with new heads/ professional rebuild so if my n/a block ever goes im ready to rock and throw down some serious boost.

the problem is i have the fly by wire so i cant use the L throttle body.
my electric tb obviously wont bolt to the lightning upper and my pcm wont like me using a cable setup i dont think. i was suggested that a gt500 tb might bolt right up and my stock throttle control cable plug might bolt right in

Q1: will a GT500 throttle body bolt to a lightning upper?????

Q2: will my 04 f150 throttle control plug plug into the gt500 tb?????

NO, as we told you before it won't bolt directly unless you go with a KB 2.6 and the JLP Power Flow inlet

now you could have a sheet metal plenum made and use that and be fine

search for the gt500 motor into a 04-08 f150 thread. IIRC he did a lot of custom work to get that motor to work correctly, but it should answer your question for the throttle body

I don't know
lol..as we told you before. sorry, i don't remember ever getting a definite answer. it wasn't my idea to begin with. they do look similar. a KB is a little out of my price range.

hate to beat a dead horse again, but how would bolting the KB work better than the eaton. i assume the KB would bolt to the lightning upper and be ready for the gt500 TB???? and then hopefully the throttle control plugs would work the same

so there really is no bolt on FI setup for frankenstein truck.
has anybody bolted on a mustang centrifical paxton/vortech with any success.

so the turbo might still be my best option.
maybe ill just get gears....and see where im at

the KenneBell replaces the Eaton all together

Johnny Lightning uses the GT500 throttle bodies on his power flow plenum all the time

I dont really have a problem with the time consuming part, its the $$ part.

and for better or worse i got a stx. so theres a lot to make better. im becoming a mod fanatic. theres no end in sight

truth be told i quess really i dont need to go any faster. im done with mustangs. i have enough tickets. i was paying over 5000 a year on insurance. one time i got 11 tickets in one shot, and the officer threatened to give me 2 more!!! ive totalled enough cars. and gas is expensive enough as it is.

still none of this stops me from wanting FI. sad really

maybe ill just get another ninja....

I'd just do a procharger if it was my frankenstein truck, as long as the adapter plates can hold the boost

how are you guys so sure the gt500 TB wont bolt to the lightning upper.
i found this http://www.modularfords.com/forums/f...k-out-78048/ad
apparently the 6.2 throttle body can be used on the gt500. it states that the TPS plug should work between truck and mustang. so maybe i should also be looking into the 6.2 tb. Also the 3v mustang TB looks very similiar.

worst comes to worse i could just get the closest matching TB and make new holes or elongate current holes. idk

yeah. i dont really trust those adapter plates. i still think i could do a turbo for cheap. i was thinking running seperate oil system jsut for the turbos. still have to use the adapter plates though.

i kinda wanna do the turbo just to prove that it can be done for less than 1500. actually i think its already been done. maybe twin turbo just to be different
