Long Vs Short tube on L swap

The truck is a 2001 SC 5.4 with a L Swap. I need to upgrade the exhaust manifolds. Problem here in St Louis is smog testing, not a sniffer but by the OBDII. From what I can tell using long tube headers creates problems lighting off the Cats. So I have been toying with switching to short tube but many have said they are almost worthless. Anyone running long tubes and passing emissions? Would header wrap help? Best Long Tubes? I know I know but your opinions.

Longtubes hands down. A good toner will be able to make adjustments in the tune for the o2 sensors being located further down stream and everything will be fine. Hope this helps. I would recommend Mike Troyer.

Long tubes and if you need to (if you go catless) Gotts O2 mod (search it on this site). For a Lightning swap I would find someone who dyno tunes Lightnings. I have a troyer tune but would recommend a good Lightning shop dyno tune over his anyday. Dyno > Email.

Mike is a Lightning tuner. If you don't like his tunes then give him a call with the details of what you don't like. He will make it run just like you want it to. He did mine. It was gradual took a few tries. It I was picky as hell about everything but she behaves exactly the way I want. Very few tuners out there with Mikes knowledge and abilities. And his lightning runs 11.1 i'd say he knows a little something.

I didn't say anything about the tune. Just a good dyno tune is better then an email tune from any tuner . Lightning tuners are everywhere.
