Think I read recently where FATHERFORD is shifting at 6000? But we also read recently that he's working on a spare engine...

Hope to have the torque converter swapped out by spring, just wondering how "high" I should go...

P.S. Got stuck on the drag strip last night beside the guy that tuned my truck (he was running his 2011 5.0 Mustang)-I lost the race.

4898 in my 180,000+ mile 4.6 just to be safe. but it will handle more.. the valve train will handle 8,000 rpm without floating though.

I shift around 5500-5600, in 3rd ill pull to slightly over 6k though... I don't need that now with my 28" slicks though, where running 26" tires I would.

Thanks for the info.

Will be awhile until I need to worry bout winding out in 3rd...

Am hoping to be well into the 13's at some point, but am trying to be patient. So far am pretty tickled with a 14.33 totally stock except for the FRP/Whipple. Doing a lot better on the tree too.

Am assuming with the Saleen rig you are running you don't have to worry about your MAF pegging?

That's a worry well down the road for me also, just thinking about the future...

After getting my truck on dyno, and tuned, **** point is set at 1-2 5,500 rpm 2-3 5,300 rpm. My tuner says it can go higher!
Motor has 150,000 plus miles. All by me!
