Powerdyne Supercharger, Yes or No?
Powerdyne Supercharger, Yes or No?
I have the chance to get a powerdyne supercharger for a good price for my truck. it comes complete minus a tuner. Would you recommend i jump on it or wait it out for whipple unit? which would cost minimum three times as much as im looking at for the powerdyne...those of you who are running one, how has it held up, power increases, what mods you have done to achieve certain #'s in boost, rwhp numbers, track numbers, and those of you who ran one with issues or needed a rebuild etc;
basically my truck is my daily driver, she gets a good beating at least once a day, i want the power, but i dont want to sacrifice my truck in doing so.
Truck is an 08 5.4 with 30,000, gryphon, obx long tube header kit with 2.5" custom dual exhaust and efans coming on this week or next.
If yes, why? If no, why not?
Please help me make a wise decision here

Is this the one for a $1000 bucks on Craigslist? If so I'd call gearheads performance and talk to them they are the ones he said that installed it and removed it. Another thing I was looking at was on powerdynes website it said it came with a pump his didn't I think for a grand something is wrong with it possibly if this is the supercharger I'm thinking about.
Exactly the one, just wanted to know what your guys' imput is, apparently the owner put in an edge chip, reflashed the ecu and ran the edge tune, blew the motor, sound realistic?
Yeah comes with the 255lph on models that need it, shouldn't cost too much to get one? But whats retail on these new?

Hi! Im new here, i have a -00 expy whit a powerdyne sc, it has got 80´k on the clock and runs like a champ, 0-60 in 9sec and outrun most standrad cars at the redlights. Tows whatever is on the hitch.
If you are going for this sc make sure thats compleete, brackets, tubing, fuelpressure regulator etc, if it works you´l be impressed.

I've taken Hemi's, Titans, Tundras, a 328 stick shift that was 10 model along with my buddies mazda 3, an impala and other 150's.
Being supercharged I hope you do much better than a 9 second or is it just a typo
9secs??
Thats what my Dads 95 Taurus with a 3.8 v6 ran back in the day. Holy crap what town do you live in where you beat so many people? I would be a god of speed there

Are you sure your 0-60 is 9 seconds? Because my n/a 5.4 which weighs 7200 from the factory being a screw fx4 easily does 7's and I bet could do a high 6 and I have toyo mud terrains and 18" diesels
