homemade turbo, supercharger, seriously

I haven't posted in awhile (hard to stay on here and alford mustang at the same time) and haven't had time to finish my bumper builds on my truck.

But anyways, I need to know if anyone here has experiene with making a homemade supercharger or turbocharger?

IT'S NOT FOR MY TRUCK!!!!!!

I stumbled across a 3 cylinder yanmar diesel off of a reefer unit we pulled a few months ago, and due to the long 11 hour work days I have convienced my self I want to build some kind of 2 seater, street legal buggy or go cart.
I figured out this thing has 25 to 35 hp, which will not due for me

so figured I'd ask for your input. my main concern about a centrical supercharger is maching out the compressor wheel. Maybe a positive displacement type?

I'm definently feeling a steel tube frame, 5 speed, independent suspension, want to be able to do 50 to 60 mph, but wanta make sure I can get alittle more umph outa this thing before I get to indepth.

thanks for putting up with me and the crap i think of while working.

like from scratch make a turbo/supercharger?

The speeds those spin to make boost, you have to have a VERY high dollar balancing machine.

Your best bet is to find a baby turbo(like off the smaller John Deere line tractors) and fabricate that up.
