What are your Intake charge temps?

So i was in AZ this whole weekend and the weather was hot. 110F! Having the blower the truck was very heat soaked. Just curious what does every one else see with intake temps with weather that hot. Whether it be Twin screw,Roots, centri's or etc..

Average temp in Texas here is around 95*.

My IAT's are roughly 105-115* cruising, 120-135* during boost run WOT, and around 125* sitting at idle (stoplight).

But, if I do get into it for a long run (1/4 mile) and I come to a stop, the IAT will run up to about 150* and pretty quickly lower after I start cruising again.

What setup are you running to get almost ambient while cruising?

Was doing 110-130 depending on how much light throttle cruising in mid-90 degree weather, 120-135 after WOT. Added a 2nd, larger exchanger out front, as well as a 2nd reservoir tank and average 10-15 degrees lower now plus it recovers a lot faster after WOT. If you think you're getting hotter temps than you should for your setup and ambient temperatures, get the air/fuel ratios checked for too lean.

My a/f is good am around 14.5-15.0. if its 90 out i will see 125 cursing on highway, but street i will jump almost to 135-140. when its 110 plus i normally run around 145-150's.

i am wondering if the placement of my cooler is hurting my temps. I already have a upgraded tank, and a upgraded heat exchanger.

Could be RPM's, gearing or whatever. Currently Im running the Roush I/C setup with my I/C radiator relocated to the outside of the A/C condensor. I noticed a considerable drop in IAT's once I did this. Prior to the relocation I would hit 130-150 while cruising.

Also, Im only running 3.55 gears and on my stock Roush tune I am still deep into vaccuum (10-20) while cruising. Up a hill I get into boost a little, but otherwise it stays in vac. For instance, today I drove to Houston and it was about 90 degrees outside at the time and I averaged around 108* IAT all the way there and never broke 128* when I laid into it. I think relocating that intercooler really helped it out a lot.

My IAT sensor reads from my intake manifold on the blower, i wonder if yours is still reading from the MAF sensor. if that's the case that would be the reason why your temps are far lower then mine.

Well, as far as I know, it reads it at the intake manifold. A.) My readings previously were much, much lower when I was NA. I rarely ever went over 116* and that is when the MAF was closer to the engine. With the Roush intake the MAF is relocated over by the intake box at the right front of the engine compartment. B.) When I went WOT while I was NA, the IAT's never really went higher really at all. Now they do which indicates to me the readings are because of the compressed air. C.) If I remember correctly, during the install I branched off from the MAF sensor and added a plug in which connects to the manifold.

Why would my IAT temps increase when I go into boost if I am reading from the MAF sensor WELL before that air even hits the blower? I just cant see my intake temps at the intake box by the fender well reaching 150* that far before the air hits the blower, and with no reason for the air temp increase.

What setup are you running? Im not sure why you are running so hot.

Keep in mind you are over spinning your supercharger. I noted when I started over spinning mine my temps shot up a bit too. I have a similar setup as you but with the stock HE and reservoir and my temps in this 90+ degree weather are just about where yours are at, maybe a bit lower when I turn my two little fans on the HE. The HE is in the front bumper correct? That is a pretty clear and open area.

yea its in the bumper, But wouldn't over spinning the blower only really matter at WOT?
