Meth washer fluid?
Meth washer fluid?
So yesterday I installed a water meth injection kit on my supercharged expedition and was curious if this is a plug and play? I was told to just use peak windshield washer fluid. My supercharger is a powerdyne with a 9# pulley but I only see 7# because of my intercooler. My expy also has been tuned before the meth injection. Does anyone know if this will work ok?
The methanol is a fuel, so your a/f will change and be rich depending on how much you add.

Another thing:
You can run a small amount of straight water with little effect on a/f's.

Get the lowest rating -30 you can find, it has the highest methanol content, and stick to the basic stuff, the additives clog your injector.
Thanks guy for the replies! Im not to sure if I really need to use it till summer because I only see 7# and im intercooled with a fan on the back of my cooler.
Derrick,
The washer fluid im using now has the deicer in it.... I think its 50% meth 50% water. will that clog my injectors? that was the most basic I could find at the store

Justin,
There are so many out there right now, it's hard to tell what you have but if it specifically says it has de-icer, it probably has some type of additive.
However, if it just says protects to -20 or -30, then it's probably safe, the methanol is what keeps it from freezing.
Usually the very plain labels with nothing more than the temp rating is what you want.
Personally I wouldn't use anything but the plain one. It's easy to find, you just have to stock up in winter, the stores usually pull it from the shelf after cold weather is gone.
Autozone has it and can order it for you, it's their basic valucraft store brand.
If you have any questions, you can actually make your own with distilled water and Heet(yellow bottle) but that way is a little more expensive.
