Quarter & Eighth Mile Times!

I'm happier than a fat kid eating cake right now. Had a great day at the drag strip. The truck ran great and was actually better when I was hot lapping it. My fastest pass was on my 4th run in a row. So much for the heat soak BS about twin screws. The truck was consistant all afternoon. Here's the results.

Oh trust us you had heat soak, it's not BS.. Post up your other slips. Your better times was because you were learning to launch better, air getting cooler, track getting stickier, etc. How much time was between your passes?

What rear tires are you using? How were you launching? Air pressure on fronts? Did you remove your front sway bar?

Was that 8:30 last night or was there time off? Seems way to bright outside to me... Rough DA was around -230 below sea level. Awesome Conditions! I'm hoping to go to the Baytown this Friday and see what my truck will do. I hope my DA to be around your area. If my worn out m/t drag radials will hook I'm hoping for a solid mid 12.

Thats pretty good times, I messed with my gryphon last night and even though my R/T was like 1.028 or something I managed to cut a 10.8 1/8 mile and 16.28 1/4 at like 81 MPH.

If I had a better reaction time (I don't like the gryphons timer) like you did, and a good sticky strip I could break into a mid 15 1/4 I think, and maybe 1 high 9 1/8.

Pretty sure I could pull better from my truck at a strip with lights, and I got big heavy AT tires too!

But still thats a pretty good time, I say given a cold fresh run you would be a little faster.

I'll post the other slips when I get home this evening. It was around 6:30p.m. so yeah there clocks must have been off. We didn't get to race until almost 5:30. Maybe 5-10mins between 2 or 3 consecutive runs. Then we would stop and let the bracket guys run. I ran 3 consistant 1.9 60ft times so my launch wasn't changing. Didn't remove anything from the truck except some trash in the door and my sub. 1/4 tank of fuel and 53degrees outside. Air pressure on the front was 32psi and rears are Nitto 555 at 18.5psi. I'm not saying heat soak dosen't exist. But everyone myself included has been amazed at how the blower dosen't get hot nor does the coolant. More like luke warm.

That is probably just enough time for it to cool off in that 50 degree weather.

Are you still spinning at the line, or dead hooking? You should be able to get that 60' down to a 1.8 at least. Bump your tire pressure to 45-50psi up front, and remove your front sway bar.

I thought about pumping up the fronts. I was hooking up. But there was no real cool down time. We were hot lapping. Run, turn around, run again 2-3 times, never parked or shut it down. My fastest time was the middle run followed by the 3rd run at 13.4 but a higher trap speed. Then we stopped for 10 or so minutes and the bracket guys would run. Only then did the truck get shut off.
