getting a kenne bell!!!

well im getting a motor and a blower in the next few days. the blower really fell into my lap, im tradin it for a bunch of stuff im not using. the guy has everthing but the boost a pump.

do i have to have the boost a pump or no? the guy said he has everything so im hoping it will be an easy install. does anyone have a part number for a belt? id like to buy a new one. and where might i install a boost gauge fitting? do they have ports? ive never messed with one of these things

STOP STOP STOP

#1 what kennebell did you get?

#2 what did it come off of?

#3 you need a fuel pump (or boost-a-pump)

#4 you need the FMU or injectors and MAF with a tune

#5 what motor are you getting?

#6 I understand you're excited but there's more to this than just bolting a supercharger on and it running safely.

#7 you are aware you have to run 91 or higher octane???

it came off a 97 expy with a 4.6
the guy used factory injectors and factory mas but got a tune
i found a good 5.4 from a buddy for 300 so im getting that.
i already run 93 because of my tune.

its the blower that bolts right to the factory upper. someone on here bought the polished version. the guy with the nice white crew cab. i forget his name but i love that truck. its the same thing i belive.

there is no way you could run factory injectors with boost unless you have a fuel management unit like they on prochargers. you should look into a 90mm maf and 39-42lb injectors, and look for a tuner like troyer, php, or vmp. hopefully tarajerame will be back and answer all your questions. heres a link for the maf and injectors if you wana take a look. http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr..._id=635cPath=9

the very minimum size injectors you should be running are 39#/42#ers

IF you have the FMU you can get by on the stock injectors.

you also need to look into an intercooler or water meth injection

im not trying to make a whole lot of power. i dd the truck. play offroad sand and some mud, and occasionally tow. is an intercooler a must? i mean i have a psd intercooler but i think that may be a little on the big side. from what ive read the kb is pretty efficient even without an intercooler setup. im not looking to make anymore boost than the factory pulley it comes with at least right now.

Get the intercooler, especially since you tow and offroad. At slow speeds you will be making a lot of heat and need the intercooler to help dissipate it.

if you look back at euferins thread, I posted the link to a mustang who added an air to air intercooler, all you'd need to do is make a new mounting plate (between the KB and intake) or make a sheet metal intake to keep the stock height, and then run your tubing and use the powerstroke intercooler core...

So you're swapping your 4.6 for a 5.4? What year is the 5.4? You know that supercharger manifold will not bolt onto a 5.4. They make adapters, but that unit should be a non-PI if it was on a 97. If that engine is 99-up, it will have PI heads. I think you need to sort out these compatibility issues before you start buying parts.
