So I plan on going to the track this friday...
it'll happen eventually, I'm sure you have pictures of my truck it'd be interesting to see if you have any video's my computer crashed and I lost the video of me spanking a blue quad cam cummins ram and a honda
We have the same one, except the face is just a different color....
Hopefully the rains will stay away so you can get some real numbers. Your conversation started out sounding like you were looking for excuses if you didn't run the number you expected. What are the HP/Trq. numbers from you dyno sessions?
Excuses no. I just know street tires on the track don't hook, the humidity will be just about retarded, and the temp will probably be in the mid 90's if not higher. That is not blower weather at all. Going from mid 90's to mid 50-60's REALLY wakes up a boosted vehicle, very much more so then an N/A engine.
Cutting a 1.8 60' over a 2.1-2.2 60' also drastically lowers the E/T.
Only thing I would have going for me is being at near sea level.
The winter time, on sticky tires, I fully except to see a 12 on the time board.
What a lot of internet bench racer's don't realize is peoples "best" times are usually under great conditions. It's not uncommon to see a car that runs high 11's in the winter, be lucky to get a mid 12 in the summer, and most of the time runs high 12's.

They come once or twice a month. Jim Jr said he would make sure and call me next time they come down. Sr. comes quite a bit, but every once in a while the whole gang will show up. They have lots of friends here in the Houston area.
430/490 are very respectable numbers. I truly understand the influence the weather can make as well as the improtance of 60' times.
My best numbers on the Lightning (12.2 @ 112mph) and my '03 Cobra (11.22 @ 122mph) both came late in the year in mid 50ish temperatures. The Lightning 60 footed around 1.80ish and the Cobra 1.60ish.
If indeed you can get it hooked I would guess you should be in the high 12's at best in 90 degree weather with high humidity. And of course once the temperatures settle in the Fall there is no doubt that low to mid 12's should be possible. It should be interesting at least. The information you supply after the outing could very possible effect what I have planned for next years venture.

My viper N/A runs a low 12 on street tires...at nearly 124mph.. lmao. I think the 1/8 mile was a 9.5.
Hell with a 2.5' time that means I'm pedeling and the MPH will hurt also.
FatherFord,
I was just looking at a back issue of Ford Performance Trucks that had an article on the Roush Nightmare. Apparently there article says that they ran a best of 13.55 @ 100.69 with a 1.96 60' time and weighed in at 5270lbs with goodyear tires(I thought the trucks had G-Force tires).
So your truck should easly be in the mid 13's.
Any weather update?
