On a different tangent....

A member on here had previously told me that he ran a 13.5 in a FX2 Screw with a Magnacharger that only produced 8psi part of the time and 10 psi the other part. It was only producing something like 380/410 and was running on 28"(I think) drag radials.

All the talk that's been thrown around in this thread screams BS on the above statement.....doesn't it?

The key is he had drag radials. I'm not spending $600 on DRs just to run a number to add to my sig. I run my truck on the track in the same configuration I drive it to work or church...with 22s. When you get caught at the traffic light next to a Tundra or Hemi, you can't say "wait, let me go put on my drag radials".

A great 60' and awesome weather conditions...

No one is saying it's impossible, but to do it safely and consistently it's going to cost $$$.

You will spend $$$$$ in a truck to just go 12's... May be fast for a truck, but it's still SLOW.

"Fast for a truck" isnt a bad thing at all. If you run 12s anything manual on the street that runs 12s on the track would be a win, well unless the guy is a super good driver.

How many 04+ trucks do you know that run in the 12s? I can only think of 1, JDM's Saleen truck.

Just a tidbit of info for you guys regarding my 32" tires and 4.88 gear set-up....

I turned the OD offyesterday and pushed her on the highway. She maxed out at about 109@5800rpm.

Wouldn't that be enough to get me through the traps?

Also, I found this:

http://www.modularfords.com/forums/s...d.php?t=126777

They claim that truck ran a 12.60@110 w/ under 500rwhp and it weighs just under 6k lbs

It's got me rethinking things....

tlt, i think the economical part of your build went out the window after the rize, huge tires, then bumping it down a bit, then taking it off, then dropping it, switching tires multiple times need i say more?

HAHAHAHA good to see someone's been paying attention!

While it's true that I have spent butt loads of dough of my truck thus far, I'm not super enthused about blowing a lot more. I can afford to do what I want to it but the I always find a thrill in accomplishing things for as little as possible. That's not to say that I cut corners, because I don't, I just like find deals and cut out the unnecessary...as well as push the envelope sometimes. If I do decide to supercharge or turbo it now, I'm sure I will build the tranny and motor down the road to allow for more capability and excitement. If I start down that road, I WILL have a 12 second truck no matter how much it costs me! It's just a matter of spending my money wisely to attain what I want. Thinking that buying a car to run on the street in the 12's or 11's would be cheaper the cheaper way to go but I like the idea of being the first, that I know of, to get an 04+ 4wd Screw into the 12's.

I will have 12s with stock motor and tranny (well maybe valve body and non stall converter just to hold higher RPMs) but its do able. Even if its 12.99s its still 12s!

With stock 23" rims and tires I believe, you know they cant be getting that good of a 60 foot with that kind of power and tires. Put 28" drag radials on it and you got a 11.9-12.3 probably if not lower.

You think 28" DR's would drop the et that much?
