is 400rwhp possible out of a 4.6L
is 400rwhp possible out of a 4.6L
Need some help/advice. In my 1998 F-150 4.6L with 170k miles I want to get 400rwhp out of it after a reuild. The only way to do it is with either a turbo or a supercharger. It'll be a daily driver.
I set a budget for around 6k +/- 1k.
I was planning on doing this when I am away at sea next winter.
I live in the Hampton Roads area in VA. Does anyone know/suggest someone to do the work?
Is this realistic or should I find a used 5.4 and go naturally aspirated.

7 grand max? mmmmmm
trans mods, fuel system mods, you may be able to find a used supercharger kit to help out, but you're gonna need a forged bottom end and probably about 18# of boost on unported heads

4v 4.6 with ported heads and alot of bolt ons and you should be around 400/400
2v 4.6 i doubt you can squeeze that much on stock bottom end and still call it reliable. You are talking about 10-12 PSI to get you up to 400

400rwhp is possible with a 2v 4.6 on a stock bottom end with a safe tune.
My mustang's 4.6 is over 400hp on 9psi of boost.
I doubt you would be able to keep your budget under 6-7k including rebuild and power adder.

What blowers are a bolt on for the 2v 4.6.
whats the difference between the mustang 03/04 4.6
a regular mustang 4.6
and the 2v f150 4.6
I know the cobra mustangs have are different down to the cranks.
but could you just bolt in the cobra 03/04 4.6 into the f150.
or is your best cheap bet to swap to a Lighning motor. there like 380 hp stock right? im sure you could do that swap for the money your talking.
maybe in the mean time ill look it up and figure this out.

but that seems expensive for only 74 safe hp ????????
Thanks
