A S/C for towing and racing.

Hi,

This is my first post here as I got myself a 2008 Lariat F-150 5.4L 3v. used mostley for towing ofcourse. I don't take it alot to the track cuz its stock now.

But am looking forward into reaching 550hp with this machine I don't want more and not less.

If you want me to be honest I just wana beat a stock Dodge ram SRT10.

so which supercharger is the most reliable and gives best Hp ? don't worry about the tune I know a good tuner.

what else should I get with it ?

Thnks.

Getting to 550 hp with just bolting on a supercharger is not practical. You're going to need a built lower end, ported and polished heads, lots of boost, a built transmission, upgraded fuel system, LTs, etc. I thank Phil is about the only guy here that has 550 hp, maybe Built54. Maybe they'll chime in.

If you put the Whipple kit on there,10 PSI,long-tube headers, bigger injectors, larger fuel pump, custom tune.
You should be in the 400 + HP range.

I would go with the Roush they cover whats left of your warranty and its a complete install you dont have to hunt plugs and injectors the Roush kit has it all, just about any supercharged and tuned f150 will beat that srt

Well I would'nt really care about the warranty because I am living overseas and that doesnt work for us here. so hell with warranty lol.

I haven't really been a fan of roush's work I love whipple kenne bell and saleen way more than roush. no offence or anything here its just my taste.

If I went with the whipple what size injectors should I use and should I use HTO plugs ?

You would use 46-48# injectors, Brisk or a one piece plug. going to 10# kit you better have good tuneing or you will be the next whipple guy who rebuilds there blown motor

Setting yourself up pal. 550hp is a lot to ask from the stock rods and pistons especially if you plan on running at the track with sticky tires. Then you have the transmission to deal with. Better to start with a less lofty goal of 400 - 450 rwhp and save some money for a built shortblock. Don't really need to worry about heads or cams either.

I personally would be looking into a turbo setup. Get that goal a lot faster.
