I am not sure where you are getting 460 rwhp figure from. Our trucks do not make 300 RWHP at the wheels stock. If you use my figure of 26 percent drivetrain loss, the trucks might make around 220ish rwhp, figuring 300 bhp.

Now if you add back the 160 rwhp ford racing/whipple power to the stock rwhp, then it comes back to around what whipple quoted. Around 380-400 rwhp, or 478ish bhp.

It is all about power under the curve.
Its all about the end result and what it cost to get there.
Here in California,a supercrew and $5300 spent on a whipple will not make the numbers you listed.

We are gifted with a special 91 octane fuel brew. So I agree with you, 91 is going to be pushing the safety limit to make that amount of power, but it can be done.

Just for reference, I had a 98 cobra with the stock long block make 513 rwhp (via t-trim & paxton air-air) on 91 octane with 11 psi from a t-trim with an a/f of 11.5:1.

On the other hand, up here in Northern cali a few 76 stations sell 100 at the pump. So over 400 at the wheels is not a problem in 100+ heat safely.

You need to do your homework on the Whipple and our trucks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0Glt1WMcf0 here is a truck at the whipple shop getting a tune with their blower.

Whipple for the win. You are not going to come close to that power with another blower pound for pound.

Do it right the first time and avoid upping the boost, belt slip, and detonation found with some other kits.

3 years and 50k+ hard miles with this kit and the truck is still going strong! get that kit and give Troyer $300-400 for some custom tunes and you will be very happy
Yep. And that auction I mentioned only has 2 left, so now is the time to get the non IC one. At $22/bhp, it's by far the best bang for the buck. And you should be able to install it yourself as the ECU gets shipped to Roush for the tune.

The whipple will cost you $29/bhp, not including the tune and installation.

I don't call 2 extra pounds, some stock cobra injectors, & MAF, very modded in my world. Try building a up a fuel system that costs over 3K

Whatever I'm done.

Keep your magna, and research what a twin screw is. Wonder why no 03 -04 cobras have magna's

Cheers

Your world doesn't include much info on how a few things (like tuning) make a huge difference in how these trucks perform. Those few mods plus a good tune can easily net 50 - 75 hp across the board over an OTB kit with a canned tune.

Try building a up a fuel system that costs over 3K
Built 1000+ hp capable fuel systems for less than a grand...so what?

Agreed. I sense FAILURE in the near future. Stay around 11:1 at WOT or expect to go KABOOM.
