Supply and demand.

Just about every tuner that you talk to abotu tuning f150 trucks either knows about alot about Troyer and/or will admittingly bow down to him (metaphorically)

Of the fe other tuners I've tried and spoke with about my truck... they all look to Mike Troyer for answers.

He knows his stuff.

is Troyer really THAT good? or is he a supporting vendor or something and thats why he gets so much recognition?

my truck was tuned by a guy with the nickname st00pid.....

he did one hell of a damn good job. my truck has been st00pified..

If you have the Roush SC then autolite HT0 would be fine or try the brisk plugs I think the 17's if you are mostly stock. Troyer can get you hooked up with the plugs if you want the 1 piece brisk or any auto parts store for the autolites.

That price for tuning isnt that bad considering that Troyer tunes 90% of Roush chargers and he knows these trucks. I had his tuning first on my truck then I rebuilt my motor with forged internals and changed some stuff that reguired a tuning change but my builder want these changes before he released my truck back to me. So I happened to go with VMP because he happened to be in TX and got dyno tuned from him. VMP is good with the engine tuning but I have had nothing but problems on the transmission side of the tune, that I have been trying to work out with him. It looks like I will be going back to troyer because he has a much better tuning on daily driveability. VMPs tuning is good but I think he is more acustomed to mustangs then 6000lb trucks. I paid close to that for my tuning through VMP and now I need to pay it again to go back through Troyer.

YOu wont be disappointed going with Troyer.

I wold go with either brisk or the autolites. I know the last time my truck was at troyers he was doing some comparisons on plugs with the truck. seeing which plug was working the best. i think i have brisk in it now. his tuning is second to none. i just towed a trailor yesterday and it showed. 2000lb car carrier with a 4200lb truck on the carrier. left in overdrive only went about 70 miles with it but it pulled like a dream. didnt search for gears and no tc locking and unlocking. it was amazing. even accelerated like it was nothing. trans temp never ment over 183. Mike is the man. and 525 is about right considering the tuner is like 300 and he builds all his tunes for your specific truck and not just some canned tuned that has been tweaked. if you drive a troyer tuned truck than i guess you can say you have been Troyerfied lol

I went through 2 sets of autolite HT0's now I run the Brisk plugs now and I dont have to worry about one breaking off when I go to change them

You still have to be leery of the fact that carbon does and will build up on the extension. No one knows what effect the carbon will have on the threads when unscrewing a plug that will not break. Will it damage the threads? personally i would still pull the plugs every 25k.
