blower whine is determined from slack in the belt, id have to look up if louder is looser or tighter but its not suggested to adjust the slack for sound.....

Roots style chargers tend to be a bit louder then the centrifigul type.

At idle, there is nothing louder than a procharger p1sc on a 97-03 truck. My ears ring if my hood is open..
Under boost,p/d chargers win the noise contest based on builts vid..Anything above idle, my prochager is a silent whistle

do you want it loud under boost or loud at idle...

loud at idle = procharger

loud under boost = ported eaton with silencer holes filled in

just hang on to ur truck and when u get urself a great job u can throw a whipple on that truck and that would be badass!

Built54 has gone way past bolting up a blower. A Z06 would be on the horizon compared to most any vehicle. Sweet vids.

A positive displacement supercharger make the most noise while building boost. The sound of the air being shoved into the engine is making the whine. The pullies make some noise, but because they are a "rib" disign, they're quieter than a cog set-up.

Cog pullies make a tremendous noice at idle but they're mostly over ridden by the sound of the boost in the higher RPMs.

Here's a cog pully:

Traditional "ribbed" pully:

I saw a great video somewhere where a guy took videos of his Lightning/Harley truck with the traditional ribbed pully and then another after he insalled the cog pulleys. I'll try to find it again (Maybe Lightningrodder)

You can get cog pulleys made for a procharger or any other centrifugal also.

I'll try to get some videos collected for you.
