blow off valve will do you no good without an intercooler creating all the back pressure. otherwise its the same thing as the stock bypass valve and you wont get any sound or whoosh noise.

well i have a 89 f150 with a powerdyne unit and i don't think there is any by pass valve or anything on the truck as it is right now.. i was told that when you go to 9 lbs of boost you should get some sort of by pass valve or blow off valve

Yes, you will need a bypass valve at 9 psi. The Bosch p/n is 0 280 142 114 for the one that may have been specified for your s/c kit.

Here's an ebay link, but I believe you can find it cheaper if you look around.

I'm sure he already has a standard bosch bypass on there now and he doesnt know it. But either way, you are still going to need to get a front mount intercooler in order to run a blowoff the way they were designed to work.

i have a bosch bypass valve for my turbocharger setup.

what does a front mount intercooler have to do with anything or having an manual transmission or not?

isnt a blow off valve or a bypass valve just supposed to relieve the air in the charge pipe once the throttle body blade is closed to prevent compressor surge?

The Powerdyne truck kits are set up for 6 psi, so they don't include a bypass, at least mine didn't.

At 9 psi I have to think that he's getting a lot of compressor surge when he backs off the throttle.

My bypass valve failed on my 10.5 psi Procharger setup, I though my blower was gonna shake itself apart. The whole truck shook.

with a auto you dont have to shift...

you can just stay on the gas in all gears

when you have a auto you can get away with out im told..

It helps keep a turbo spooled
and from going the other way..
i think

superchager tho.. well the above said it

sorry guys for the late responses.. i have a 89 f150 with a powerdyne unit on it and i changed the pulley to a 2.62 pulley and it produces 9 lbs of boost according to powerdyne and im sure it will. i have on the back side of my sc the filter and the other end goes into the throttle body without anything on the tubing itself like a blowoff valve or releif valve.. my setup will be in one year is a 306, eledelbrock heads, eldelbrock upper and lower intake,61mm throttle bodie, comp cams cam shaft, custom dual exhaust, msd ignition, this supercharger and i wanted to intercoole it but didn't know much about it, oh electric fans. help me out guys should i get a blow off valve or releif valve. and can anyone help me out with intercooler issues
