Question for all you guys, do any of you launch in 4wd? The guy who put on my supercharger said a lot of the diesel guys do. I assume you would shift out before the first to second shift??? Is this smart or just asking to break something?

BTW, I've only had the Roush installed for a couple of weeks, I love the power, but I can definitely see it needs different tuning. And to the original poster, if you have oversized tires/wheels and are still running 3.55 gears, do yourself a favor and get 4.10's at least, they made a huge difference for my truck, even before the supercharger.

I have too seen the diesel guys launch in 4X4 but they have trubo lag we dont, so I would not try it unless you are under warranty by roush. I know my truck makes over 430 Tq right when I hit it Im pretty sure the transfer case will not stand for that

Yeah I think I'm gonna order some 4.10's on monday when I go back to work.

Also on a side note my Roush kit didn't come with new spark plugs they said I didn't need them and the box that my pcm came in said f150 intercooled with out spark plugs. Is the tune for stock spark plugs alot more conservative than with colder plugs?

When I talked to Mike Troyer he said some factory tunes left more power on the tables than others, he also stated roush has several tunes they use. Maybe mines one of the more conservative ones.

Are we not talking about trucks that weigh around 6,000 pounds?
My last trip to the track I saw four lightnings run. Three of the four were in the very high fourteens. The fourth was at 13.2, and it wasn't an Eaton blower. Granted, 2,600', warm and humid, but reality.
I think 15.5 is respectable with just a blower kit. Troyer will get you more!

Been done before with these trucks. It's entirely possible to put these trucks well into the 12's with a dialed in supercharger and supporting work done. Much further with built motors and the like.

James - no doubt - most things have been done before.

I tried some numbers in my performance calculator. So, 6000#, 12.9794 sec, 105.38 mph = 541.029 HP.
Try it by downloading the caculator from racesystems dawt calm.

OK, everybody with a 3v in the 12's say HERE. The silence is deafening.

ONELOWF, good point, and 541HP is rear wheel HP that engine would have to produce 649.2HP at the crank calculating only a 20% drive line loss, that equates to approximately 2HP per cubic inch.

I would love to see the dyno charts and track times from your truck when your done. That should be one bad truck.

I put this much stock in online calculators that attempt to predict a dynamic system:

There really hasn't been anyone here with a blown 3V truck aside from the guy running the Votech that's gone far enough to really put their truck in the 12's. Dyno numbers...fine. Strip the interior of excess stuff, pull the towing gear, air up the front tires, run drag radials, and ice down the supercharger...basically everything that goes into serious prep for a day at the track. THAT doesn't happen very often despite the money invested in power mods.

That also HIGHLY over-estimates how much crank horsepower. Try in lower 600 range.

I've seen a 6,050# (with driver, track scales) truck run 12.80's with not even 500 hp at the tires. Not a diesel, drag radials, and the driver knowing what he was about. All things an online calculator can't take into account.
