Getting Ready for Pro Charger to Lightning Upgrade

Just bought a Lightning unit off of Ebay. New pull off from 2001. Guess the Pro Charger has to go!! Just had my truck dynoed at Troyer, guess I'll be going back

I guess I will call Mad Enterprise and get some parts. Any install recomendations?

it was at 12 until I went to Troyer last time and he said we had better remove it to be safe before the dyno runs. so it is now 9

Feh....should have just left it at 12. There are too many people running 12# ProChargers to lend any credibility to an argument that you might hurt the engine based on that alone.

I was just going on his advise. I will not have to worry about it for long as the swap will near. Just have to decide 6 or 8 psi in the Lightning Blower??

I've been running 12 for about 30,000 miles then went to 14. About 5,000 miles. Engine appears to have damage to ring/piston. Oil coming out back when I hit the gas. Truck now has 125,000 miles on it. So, the question is not can it take it, its for how long. Yes, tune will help, but running high boost will damage stock hypereutectic pistons, its just a matter of time. And this is a daily driver, never drag raced!

I've been seeing 13 - 14psi on my truck for nearly 3 years without issue. If something went bad, 90% of the time it's the tune. Wasn't the pistons' fault either. Hypereutectic alloy pistons are more sensitive to detonation but if the tune was spot-on that wouldn't be an issue. If LS1 cars can make 600+ hp with their cast, hypereutectic pistons and live with the abuse then it's obviously not that big of a deal.
