fuel pump

The power wire I strung behind that plastic wire cover over to the bottom starter solenoid. The ground I screwed to the firewall with a self tapping screw.
The switched goes to the lower green with yellow stripe. I hooked it to the top one and it ran all the time, the bottom one is switched to the ignition for run position.

the lower green with yellow stripe? is that under the fuse box? i've got the other 2 wires run the same as you just don't want to tie into the wrong wire.

I'll look again in the morning thanks

Wire

The bigger looking one is the one you want. Grab a test light, 1 is hot all the time the one is only hot in key on position and not accessory.

I hooked to the wrong 1 at 1st... the pump was trying to run all the time.

i tried the green with the yellow stripe and it's constantly hot, there are only 5 green wires with yellow stripes coming from my fuse box (3 are dead / capped by the factory)

any other ideas to hook in this power wire???

and

my fuel rail is on real good

just out of curiosity, why did you go with an FMU rather than upgrading ur fuel pump, injectors and maf?

The wire you want is closest to the driver in the wire bundle. You are probably not checking it by cycling the key are you?

I went with the FMU because with a 9 lb pulley it works good. Why spend money on something that frankly.. well isn't fast? Its my daily driver that needed some Umph..
If I stumble upon a MAF and injectors maybe.. but then you still need a tune any why waste the extra money when an FMU works?
Just chassis dyno it with a wideband and adjust your bleed on the FMU.

FMU's tend to be like band-aids.. maybe not in your case but I've heard more negative things about them rather than positive. Maybe I should just experience an FMU myself before I post my opinions. I dont know.

whats not fast about your truck? if its supercharged im sure its faster than most trucks.

a tune is never a "waste" of money. Tuning is extremely important when it comes to this stuff I dont understand why you'd want to cut corners.

the FMU is just until tax return time, truck is going to stay on 9psi until I swap engines. 42# injectors, 90mm MAF and an in-tank 255lph pump and a tune on the xcal2 I own

truck is an '01 F-150, supercab, 5.4,

The FMU's work good as long as you have them tuned properly..

I should say a tune is a waste of money if your going to stay at 9 lbs boost and you have your fmu setup properly. It keeps the AFR in check so it isn't cutting corners.

I tune many EFI vehicles at the local chassis dyno so I know the importance of a tune but, this is my daily driver not a race car. It is fast compared to other trucks but in my case it doesnt matter to me. I just can't justify spending money on a tuner when an FMU will work just fine for the application.
Im sorry my perception of fast is different then others.. I run a high HP street car which is where I dump my $$.. not into my daily driver.
If you want your truck to be the fastest well.. yes a tune, injectors and MAF will do the trick.

Did you find that fuel pump wire?

yup got the fuel pump wired in, thanks, I'm running the FMU for the same exact reasons.

maybe later with a lot more boost on the new motor then maybe a tune and injectors etc, I'm sure the FMU will be just fine at 9psi on the street.

I'm thinking I need to swap to 3/8 fuel line VS the 1/4 i havenow between the pro-pump and the fuel filter

Are you using the fuel pump and lines the way it came? If so look at the size of the fuel filter in and out. Its not that big. Put a fuel pressure gauge on, then if its loosing fuel pressure uptop when its on boost that could be a problem. Its hard to not try and fix stuff that looks like it may not work before actually running it 1st.

Mileage

Actually.. on a happier note it seems my fuel mileage went up a little bit! The 1st tank I beat on the truck and was on boost a lot and it went down 1.5-2MPG. Now this tank ive been driving it sane and do a lot of highway driving. It seems like it is getting an extra 20-30KM's per tank versus what it got before, this is also cold weather driving. We will see when I fill up but at half a tank it is over what it normally is for mileage.

the truck bogs now when i put it in drive or reverse from park it soundsliek it's running out of fuel and sputering then it catches back up and runs fine, just no power without the custom tune and bolts on I took off to swap over to the boost maker, the fuel pump had a 3/8 line on it that had been cut and the 1/4 inch line won't fit over the bump in the fuel filter so I'm gonna change to the 3/8 fuel line and see how that affects things.

fuel pump and FMU are gonna be run the way ATI set them up

Did you reset your computer? I would bet but if not do it!
Also did you hook your IAC up to the intake tube??
Did you also clean the throttle blade on your throttle body??
Put it back to stock fuel line, you shouldnt have any problems.
