RoushCharger and emissions inspection
RoushCharger and emissions inspection
I noticed the following phrase at the top of the literature that came with my Roush supercharger kit:
"Not legal for sale or installation on smog controlled vehicles"
Wonder if this is a sign of potential emission inspection problems down the road? Anybody with a Roushcharger have emission inspection difficulties?
I'm not too worried...yet. I'm good for at least two years. Our state doesn't require an emissions inspection until the 2nd anniversary of a new vehicle purchase. It's annually thereafter.

It means that Roush didn't certify the kit to be smog-compliant...it's their way of saying that you're on your own.
It all comes down to what your state smog requirements are. Some states do very little. Depending on the tune, you might pass the sniffer. But if you have to pass a visual inspection in your state, you're sorta screwed.
