Talk to Pilot over at got-pressure.com, he specializes in custom turbo and procharger set-ups. The starter kit utilizes a Garrett 67mm turbo with many upgrade options depending on the size of your pocket-book.

I have the 4.6L, but their getting 400-420 rwhp on a stock 4.6 with upgraded fuel system.
The only reason I haven't dropped the hammer yet, is because I have recently moved to California and have to wait to Sept. to go back home. I don't think I could pass the visual inspection with the hair-dryer under the hood. I have a hard enough time with the AF1.

He even does installations if you're close enough to Dallas to travel.

I'm not going to discuss actual price, all I'll say is $5700+(depending on you)unless you piece the kit and install yourself

WAY to much trouble, just to pass smog.

I'm not sure what to do for a V-6 thats Ca emissions approved. I'd ask Pilot over at got-pressure and see what he has to say.

thanks for the reply
Startup pollution isn't the problem...exhaust emisions really isn't, either, so long as you have a good tune and are running cats.

It's the visual test that's the problem.
No CARB placard = you fail

You would have to do one of the following:
- take the turbo (and related plumbing) off, which is a huge PITA
- find a shop that will look the other way for the visual, and test you with the sniffer alone
- find a shop that will pass you regardless...this will cost a lot of money, and good luck finding one because the penalties are very steep for any shop that does this

Best bet is to find a CARB approved blower. That's the main reason why I bought a Procharger for my truck.
