39# VS 42# injectors

i went and looked at a saleen truck today, with the supercharger and it had 39# injectors, are they better for tuning than the 42#ers that came on the lightings and harley trucks?????

Not really any better persay. The 39# injectors the Saleen has are the newer EV6 style injectors. The EV6's have a wider spray pattern for a more even air/fuel mixture entering the combustion chamber of multi-valve intake cylinder heads (remember the 3V Modulars have 2 intake valves). The 42# "green top" injectors are the older EV1 style and have a narrower spray pattern. The EV6 injectors are a bit more efficient and seem to react faster than the EV1's so they may be able to keep up with higher duty cycles. You could use either style on almost any Modular as there are plug-and-play wiring adapters available.
