Not to burst your bubble

I might have been a little hard, I have had several Thunderbird SC's, they have a 3.8 engine. NOT to be confused with a regular 3.8 naturally aspired engine. Now I dont remember if your 4.2 has that split port intake or not. But if you do not have that, you could do a blower easier,if you want to do an engine swap to a 3.8 SC motor? I do have a sweet shortblock and heads from an SC. The difference in the block is, a steel crank, forged rods, and pistons, the heads visually look the same except for an "SC" casted into the corners. and, if you put a regular 3.8/4.2 head on a scale, then a 3.8SC head, there would be a significant weight difference. The SC head is noticably heavier even holding on your hand, The rest of the Tbird sc kit is easy to get on Ebay, But BE WARNED, on a stock computer dont run stock T-bird SC boost. Keep it down to like 5-6. Other upgrades will be needed if you go higher.
Please reply if I could help at all,

I have been doing research on the 4.2. I am wanting to put one in a mustang. The 4.2 has split port heads, so the SC Tbird swap won't work without changing to the old style single port heads. This would be a poor choice as you would gain only a little bit of power with the SC over your present set up. There is a procharger for the mustang 3.8(externally the same as the 4.2) - not sure how it would line up on the F150 though. Check on the mustang V6 forums - the hot thing right now is adapting the M112 blower from a cobra to fit on the V6. May be a possibility on the F150. As long as you don't go over about 300hp, your engine should be ok with a good tune.
