hey people, i am very interested in getting one with in the next couple of months if all goes as planned with money..lol

This is goin on a 2006 F150 5.4L 3V
1.What kind of city mpg are you guys getting?
2.What kind of Highway mpg are you guys getting? Is there some type of by-pass valve to stop boost on long distant trips?
3.Up to want amount of hp/tq can the engine/internals/tanny hold up to before something gives?
4.What is a safe boost that wont kill the engine or put alot of wear-and-tear on the engine?
5.What are some problems that i can incounter if something goes wrong?
I know there some other things i need to know can you people help me out!

Glad to hear you want to go blown. I'll try to answer some of your ?s the best I can. As far as mpgs, you can count on them going down cause as soon as you're in the boost you'll use more gas, plus you'll have to start using 91 or better octane. If you don't get into the boost then the mpgs shouldn't change much but then what's the point of getting a blower
How much boost will depend on which blower you get. I have the Procharger P1-SC at 12# boost. I picked up about 145 hp over stock, not sure about the tq. That much boost on twin screw blowers won't work, maybe around 6-7#s but that will still get you big gains. Your engine and tranny will handle around 400hp to the wheels maybe more without having to build it up. Hope that answers some of your ?s. Good luck.

Stock Eatons on Lightnings and HD due become less efficient as boost goes up, but 12lbs is what a lot of us are running on stock trucks and doing just fine. I have had both and I love the low end torque of the positive displacement blowers over the centrifugals. My opinion. In most cases its what do you want to do with the truck and how much are you willing to pay. Remeber that Ford GT's, Cobra and Shelby's use swin screw blowers. Can't be too bad.
OBTW more power equals less fuel economy, especially when you put your foot into it, and you will once your hear the whine of a eaton. I lost about 10% under normal driving (~12lbs of boost and 400hp at engine), but picked up about 20% when I tow horse trailer in hills.
