Procharger

I have a 5.4 2004 F150 2WD. I occasionally pull my racecar trailer with it locally to and from the shop that does my work. It doesn't have nearly the hp or tourque I would like it to. I can get a deal on a Procharger PS1-C with intercooler. I think I would rather spend the money on this instead of upgrading to an F250 Power Stroke. I also think it would be a blast to cruise around with the blower - any thoughts?

Thanks.

It won't have the low-down grunt of a Powerstroke but it will be very fast.

I tow a 7,000lb. boat/trailer with my Procharged Expy w/4.10 rear gears, and it does quite nicely. Plenty of passing power, even up grades.

Just keep in mind that you need revs for boost with a centrifigal blower.
But they just keep pulling and pulling until the shift point.

That's exactly what I did and for the same reason. I pull a 9000# boat during the summer in Phoenix and my Procharger does a great job. Just had it on the dyno over the weekend just to make sure that everything is right before I took it in for an emissions test. It put down 317 rwhp and 403 rwtq. Of course it's an 01 5.4. You'll would see #s much higher with the 3V engine. And what I really like about the cents is that they're much easier on the engine and tranny than the twin screw blowers. Expecially when towing. Good luck.

Do you have any pics of your engine compartment?
I'd love to see a procharger in an Expedition.

This is the only one I have handy. It's sorta dirty in there:

Intercooler is behind the front bumper...the early bumpers have that gaping hole so I think they work better for this than the closed-off, later-year bumpers.

Thumbs up

I love your setup and thank you for the pics.

So far, you seem to be the only person that I'm aware of on the board, that has an Expedition with a power adder.
