Question What's the difference?

What are the differences between the superchargers that ATI Procharger makes? I believe they are the P-1SC and the D-1SC. Is one capable of producing more boost than the other, and at what levels? Does one make more power at different rpm's that the other? Can you send one back to ATI and have it upgraded to the other? If you know of any other differences between the two, lets hear em. Thanks...

This chart lists the differences.

Different flow rates/psi rating/HP suported, as different sized engines have different requirements.

P1-SC and D1-SC are very similar. Differences are the impeller design and the bearings. They share the same cases and volutes. D1-SC uses a helical impeller and heavier duty bearings than the P1-SC. Cost to have ATI turn a P1-SC into a D1-SC is over $1000. So if you don't opt for one when you order a kit don't plan on upgrading later on without spending a lot of money.

Thanks guys. If I am correct, doesn't it list where the P-1SC is capable of producing 32 pounds of boost? How do they do that? Just wondering, cause I may want to upgrade my P-1SC boost levels more than 9# or 12# after new motor gets broken in.

Those are absolute values.
It can make that much boost...but not on a 5.4L mod motor.
It would have to be a much smaller engine, methinks.
