Question new motor

i have a 2002 supercrew 4x4 that i put a supercharger on off a lightning.i came into a 2002 5.4 long block in good condition and i was going to build it up to put in my truck. i have put together many small and big block chevys and FE and small block fords but i don't know what parts i should use to make the 5.4 bullit proof.i don't race the truck but i do like leaving other brands in the dust,i use it for towing a travel trailer.i know i need forged pistons, but what comp.stock lightning or reg 5.4.how about heads, have these ported or after market?any advice would be great.

It's common knowledge that the stock pistons and rods are always suspect. If you have the engine out and the time to play, head work and cams would be the next best thing to look at. I would try to find heads with more spark plug threads than the oem.

Check the L vendors. They use what works. I'd also suggest heads/cams as these motors love to breathe. JDM possibly.
