Procharger belt tensioner.

I'm experiencing some annoying problems with my belt tensioner. The pulley is scraping on the mounting bracket and making one hell of a noise. I play around with the nuts and bolts a little and that helps for a short time then it's back. Any thoughts on what to do or do I need to replace it.

I have had that problem a couple times, typically from me screwing with the pullies (switching pullies/replacing bearings). I have always got mine to stop scraping by tightning up the bolts on the rear. Did you change out the pulley recently? I had a problems when I reinstalled the pulley in the wrong direction, causing it to scrape. Do I understand you correctly in that your bolts keep loosening?

I have not changed any pullies yet and I don't think the bolts are coming loose, I just loosen them and retighten them and that seems to help for a while. I noticed the arm itself that the pulley is on seems to move a little. I can accually pull it back while the engine is running and the noise stops until I let it go, then it's back to scraping on the bracket. I may just take it off and see if I can find anything wrong inside it.

ADT,
I had the same problem.I put a thin washer between the bracket and tensioner to angle the pitch of the tensioner arm.Its a rig,but its worked for 2 years w/ the same tensioner. With the belt fully tensioned, add enough size of a washer to make sure the tensioner pulley is putting equal pressure on the belt..

Did you get the package?

Frank

That's a good idea Frank, I'll tackle that this weekend. And yes, I got the package yesterday. Thanks alot. Probably won't install it until the heat goes away and I get the fuel pressure issue worked out.
