blower install engine loud sound

blower install engine loud sound

after the lightning supercharger install, i notice that the engine produces a loud noise. not whining but sounds like metal hitting metal. is that normal?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no, it's not normal.

Just did the Lightning SC upgrade to my 2001 5.4L. The only additional engine sound comes above 2K RPM and that is the SC whine. Definately would look long and hard for the cause!

Sounds like you may have rotor contact in the SC or possibly Cavitation

does it sounds like pebbles in a coffee can? If so its pinging.

Did you re-flash the PCM with a 'blower specific' tune?

yes, it sounds like coffee beans in can ( pinging) , so is that normal?

Yes it is,,you should put in some 89 Octane gas and go to the nearest freeway and do as many W.O.T. blasts,, Just as many as possible to burn out the Carbon....!

!!!!! No it is not normal unless your tuner is CRAP, Pinging = Detonaition and is DEADLY to any engine!!!!!
