Fuel Pressure.......Is this normal?

I installed a 255lph Walbro pump about a month ago in preparation for my Procharger install. It appears to be functioning properly. Last weekend I installed my autometer gauges, including an electric fuel pressure gauge.

The FP guage consistently reads right around 40 psi ALL THE TIME. It will flutuate +/- 1-2 psi depending on the load, but otherwise does not move much.

Should I be seeing more fluctuation? Is my gauge faulty? Or am I just being a melvin?

Thanks for your help!

Upon doing some more searching of this forum, I think I am ok (confirmation from you gurus would be much appreciated!). Since i am still stock and not yet blown, the fact that my fuel pressure is staying right around 40psi is normal. After the Procharger with FMU is added, I should see a larger increase in FP in proportion to the FMU setting and the boost level. If I remove the FMU and upgrade the injectors, tune, etc. I should not have the huge FP flucuations because the FMU is removed from the picture. Is this correct?
