Has anyone here installed a procharger on a late model F-150?? Is the rattle at idle normal?? I talked to procharger and they said if it disappears once it revs up, its normal.

Yeah, there is a whining sound that I consider normal, but I am concerned with the rattle-like sound (like a bad bearing) . Also, the kit only came with 39 lb fuel injectors but no FMU or additional pump (procharger said itดs not needed on these models). Has anyone installed a procharger on a 2005 FX-4 with 5.4 L 3-Valve. My kit came with diablosport custom tune for the procharger, but way on the lean side.

 

Definately the rattle at idle is normal, that 's because of the backlash in the gears. Once it spools up, the noise should go away. Before I installed the custom tune, my truck used to idle real low, around 500 rpm. At that, the rattle turned into a loud vibration that I could feel in the cab, it was terrible. After installing new injectors. MAF, and custom tune, the noise has gone back to the normal rattle. The one thing you need to look for periodically is a fluid leak close to the drain screw. I had to send mine back to ATI to have that fixed. But you gotta love that whine.

 

Yeah my vortech does the same thing. First time I heard it I was like WTF!!!!!

 

The KB, ATI and now the Eaton all made/make rattleing noises at idle. The KB and ATI I had on my 02 5.4 a whle back.

 

How can I fix the higher fuel demand on my 05 FX4 due to the procharger???? The kit did not come with an extra fuel pump, and the fuel rail has no return line for an FMU. HELP กกกกกกกกกกกก
