What to expect.

O.K. so here's my set-up, 01 SCAB, 4x4, 5.4 Procharged w/ 9# boost pulley, 3 core intercooler, 42# inj., and 90mm MAF, SCT Excal 2 tune. I'm taking it to the dyno soon, what do you think I should expect to see when all is said and done? https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=7238

Just a guess, but i would think you should expect somewhere at least 100 hp increase with your setup.

I had that before I installed the 42# inj., the 90mm MAF, and the custom tune. The truck was running real lean, around 15 I believe. RWHP was at 280 and RWTQ was at 315. What I'm really hoping for is at least 300 at the wheels.

I'm with you adt, although I figured you would have made more than 280 before. ATI says a 60-65% increase. Do we loose that much HP thru the tranny? Your truck's rated at 260 FW, so I figured -50HP thru tranny. Is it much more than that. I was hoping to get at least 310+ with my 4.6 considering I have the same stuff you have.
I was thinking some of the other Procharger guys were pushing 350+ with the 12lb pulley.

I have that set up on a Screw. 4x4 and tranny do suck a lot of power. In addition, I am in California and can only get so-so 91Oct gas. Here is my post from the dyno graph thread:

297 HP 347 TQ
4WD sucking up the power. ATI 8psi, 3 core, 90mm maf 42# Inj.

However, no two dyno runs are the same. You may get 300 today, and 330 next week on the same dyno. Use another dyno and all bets are off. There are many variables, so take the numbers for what they are.

Well I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Once it's done, I'll post the results. Thx everyone!

I guess I misunderstood your question. Good luck, and looking forward to seeing your numbers.

No sweat man, I just wanted to get an idea as to what kind of #'s I should expect when all tuning is done. I've seen episodes of Truck Universe on T.V. where the Pres. of SCT was talking about the incredible increases in h.p. and torque on a P.S. diesel so I wondered how the same tuner would affect my truck. I hope to see 300 + rwhp. and accually I expect no less. Like I said, I'll keep my fingers crossed Thx, again.

Again, just a reminder that your transfer case is stealing HP from you, and the pump premium in AZ is the same junk we get in California (i'm pretty sure). You might go down to the launch ramp areas and fill up on AV gas that they sell for the Hot Boats. I know they sell it around Havasu, not sure about Phoenix. I'm sure with a good quality gas you will hit 300+ Who tuned your Xcal? Remember with our bad gas, you can't push the timing up like these guys who get 93 and 95 octane gas at the local pump Good luck, and I'll watch for your results. I hope you see 340

On 91 octane, I'd say you should hit 300 without issue in that truck. Now, it is all dependant on the tuning. You don't say if you have an exhaust or not, I hope you do with the huffer. With a shot in the a$$ tune, I made 225 @ 3800 RPM and flatlined running a powerdyne to 6 psi on a 98 model that was 230 stock form. Something in my tune fails to allow the truck to continue. From what I understand, the blower makes a noise that the knock sensor picks up and retards the timing. Had my curve continued on the track it was on, 300 was possible for me. I am in the process of adding a liquid to air intercooler and a new tune.

Put me down for 308 in the board pool though.

And one last thing, always expect less and be happy with more. Wanna talk about disappointments, have someone tell you they think you're pulling in the 325-350 range and peak at 225

Dyno will break you heart everytime... Anyway I made 331hp/388tq with a stock pullied ProCharger, ballpark tune w/ 42# injectors and 90mm MAF. Better tuning would have been in the 340's and right at 400 lb-ft.

Not to beat this nag to death, but again...you probably won't see those kind of numbers with 4WD and 91 octane gas! I certainly hope you do, and I hope those are "safe" tunes, but those are numbers more likely to be seen on a 2WD with a 93 octane tune.

To answer the ?'s by Desperado and 98 Navi, the tune is by Sal w/PSP (Powersurge Performance) and I've installed a Flowmaster 40 series SIDO 3'' tubing coming out in front of the right rear tire. Maybe I'm being too concerned about the #'s. I've been very happy with the performance of the truck since I've installed the blower and it pulls my boat much better. I know I'm not going to boost it any more so wherever it is I'll have to be happy with it. I guess it's more for bragging points. Thx again.

I'll tell you this, I dynoed 225 peak HP and 312TQ but I can still beat out a Dakota srt 5.9 tuggin 8000#'s down the road. Dyno numbers don't always tell the whole story, and when i dynoed mine it was like 58 degrees and pouring rain. I have roasted new F150's, multiple japanese chit piles with mufflers the size of small children hanging out the back, and once, just once played around with a porsche (which was stupid on my part, I knew I had no chance but what the he11, he could have blown a tire! )
