Stock -vs- Roush Exhaust w/ Supercharger

I'll be having the Roush blower installed on my '05 FX-4 within the next couple of months. (After my house sells.) Having been in the Mustang community I know stock exhaust systems can be very restrictive. I was pushing 18psi on mine, and the stock 2.25" pipes were not sufficient to say the least.

I'm wondering how the stock exhaust is on the '05 5.4L 3V's. I want my truck to be as silent as possible. However, I don't want the blower to choke on pipes that are too small.

What do y'all think? Will the stock exhaust restrict me at 6psi? Or even 8psi in the future? How much difference is there between the stock exhaust & the "legal" Roush system? I don't want to deal with drone... and I want people to hear the blower when I step on it! Not exhuast.

Thanks!

I'm doing teh same--don't haveteh s/c installed yet, but it is in teh garage. Borla si/so is very quiet w/o the blower. I asume you will hear the blower regardless of exhaust.

I think you'd absolutly want to get a 3'' exhaust system installed asap and there are mufflers out there that open up the flow yet don't put out alot of sound, the Dynaflow for example. You don't have to worry about any drone even from a loader muffler in a pick up truck, mostly SUV"s. I've been running a 3'' system and a flowmaster muffler in my truck, it's loud but no drone. If you leave it stock it won't run at it's full potential. IMO, there's no sweeter sound than a throaty rumble of a V-8 and the whine of a blower.
