Why are you going procharger? What made you come up with that decision?
I was going to go procharger untill I did alot of reading up, and vortech seems to be the more advanced centrig blower.

I don't know about the new kits from Procharger, but I think they only come with an FMU instead of larger injectors. Think injectors are an upgrade along with the Mass Air. If you buy a kit for your truck (new) it will come with everything you need to install the charger and run safely, chip included.

But, I'm glad procharger came back. Even if what vortech said was true, I would still have to go procharger.
I put my last procharged truck through hell, and it still kept running strong.
There was a lot of information there, but I woulnd't assume it all to be real raw data either, as it is directly off of ATI's site. WHat you need, is someone like MMFF to do a real world test between the two. I know, a couple years ago they did some tests like that with a blowzilla, vortech, paxton, and ATI blower on real apps.
ALso, all of us who own blowers know that the performance of the blower can vary day to day based on temp, humidity, weather and airflow characteristics.
I personlly have seen many a blowers on many a cars, and I even have a vortech from a 93 GT for sale. Its a 10 rib pushing 16psi non intercooled. I wateched it make 510 HP on a 306! So don't knock'em till you've seen some first hand tests

Back to the topic,
dillon,If you do get the ati go for the 3 core intercooler,no tune,no injectors or pump if possible.
No tune: your better off having a custum tune made to fit your particular needs.IMO, the xcal2 will allow you to datalog in order to have your tuner fine tune it.
No injectors/pump:Your better off getting 42# ers from Mad along w/a 90 mm maf,and in tank fuel pump
As far as ati? Since I joined this site,ATi's have been posted as putting out the best dynos & et's as far as centri's go..
Frank
Desperado, I figure 1 of us had to represent

I just think its ironic how people have different experiences. Most everyone I know around here that is making the big numbers runs vortech and has had no problems. Most have had procharger before and said they would never go back after having their vortech.
I mainly like the fact of the air/water cooler over the air/air. That is what made my decision.
Ofcourse also ATI and Vortech are going to go back and fourth and deny claims. Thats a given.
Either way, im going vortech.

Im sure all of us are happy w/ our choices.I just offered dillon an option...When its cool out and you step on the accelerator, the name on your s/c really doesnt matter....if it feels good!!!!
Still waiting for a cold snap in s.fla and being able to get to Moroso

One can order a blower, from ATI, with the same type of curved impeller as Vortech. Thus yeilding more hp up top. ATI uses a straight cut impeller because they claim it provides better low end tq than a curved impeller. The trade off being less top end than a curved impeller. ATI says the straight cut is better for street use.
If I were to go back and do it over with my previous ATI set up, I would have used their curved impeller blower along with a 3 core intercooler. I can't recall the model number for the curved impeller. I believe the straight cut is P1SC. The curved may be P1SC2 or D1SC. Best to call ATI.
Two years ago the ATI wasn't much more than the Vortech, but it included an intercooler. That was my deciding factor at the time.
