what is needed
Can someone give me a list of what it needed to build a complete Turbo set-up.
I know you need a Blow-off valve, wastegate, Turbo(obviously), bigger infectors, fuel pump. But what else, would I need an bigger MAF. Is there any electrical/ wiring needed or any type of plumbing.
I would appreciated any and all help.
Thanks in advance

If you want more than that, you will have to upgrade the fuel system for sure, along with the MAF.
You will either need to rework your stock exhaust manifolds (which is what I did) or build a new set to mount the turbo on. You need to fab up the exhaust from the turbo to the cats to the muffler and beyond.
You need to fab up some intake pipe from the turbo to the throttle body, and stick an intercooler in there if you decide to use one. Also stick the BOV in this pipe and fab it up to recirculate.
You need to change spark plugs to a colder heat range.
You probably will want to mount some electric fans as pushers to make some room for all the turbo crap under the hood.
You need a good custom tune to make it all work like its supposed too. I strongly recomend going with SCT.
And there are probably some more things that I forgot to mention, but thats the basics.

"thats the basics"
Thanks for the info, are there any links that you now of that has any type of schematics of a Turbo installed. I wish I could see a pic. of a kit layed out then go step by step throught the install.
When you say to "rework your stock exhaust manifolds", is it possible to flip the header so the exit point is facing up and in front of the engine. I have seen that done before, though I cant remember where.
Would it be more beneficial to use Aluminum for all of the intake tubing and SS for the exhaust, or use SS for the entire build?
What would be a good size Intercooler, I know the BIGGER the better.
But, is there a happy medium.
Is there any plumbing that has to be done, for oil or any coolant to prevent over heating?
Thanks marlon, I appreciate it and sorry for all of the questions.

I flipped my passenger side manifold over, and ran a crossover pipe from the drivers side manifold to the passenger side. When I flipped mine over, the flange hit the upper A frame mounting bracket, so I had to cut it off. On the newer models, they might work better, I don't know.
For a twin setup, you need 2 of some things, not all though. You need 2 turbos and 2 WGs. You still only need 1 BOV and IC, but you can use 2 if you so desire.
My IC is 28X12X3 and thats about as big as you can fit on my body style truck. The newer trucks could possible fit larger ICs.
You will need to run a pressurized oil line from the engine to the turbo, and then a drain line from the turbo back to the oil pan. If you happen to get a turbo with a water cooled jacket, you will have to run a water line as well, but most are only oil cooled.
SS pipe is the "best" stuff to use for all the exhaust between the turbo and the engine, because it retains heat the best, which is what spins the turbo. After the turbo it doesn't really matter. Anything is fine for the intake pipe as long as it doesn't rust. It just really depends on how fancy you want it to look, and how much money your willing to spend.

Thanks Marlon, I appreciate it.
I will probably use 304SS for the whole system. What are the standard sizes for the tubing used. I know the exhaust should be at leats 2.5" and the intake could be 3.5" to 4", I am just not sure about the rest of the system, from and to the intercooler or could I use the same size for everything except for the exhaust.
Do you happen to know of a good place to find any of this stuff for a little less $$$$. Also what brands should I look for, would the Import brands be useable, I have seen some on Ebay but they all say for Import cars or 4 Bangers in general. Banks, Garret and HKS. What other would be useable?
Thanks again, sorry for all the questions.

3 inch for the exhaust is sufficient.
Master Power, Garret and Holset all make great turbos. There are also a LOT more good turbo makers. You can find some great deals on Ebay, just be careful and know exactly what you are buying. Don't buy any cheap no name stuff, cause it might work out great, and then again it might be crap.
I used several 2.5 inch mandrel bent U bends from Summit for all my pipe needs. They are cheap and easy to work with. If you want a 90, just cut it in half, if you want a 45 cut the 90 in half.

Just wondering....
Now, I know that it's alot of fun to do it all yourself, but is there not a kit that is designed for you specific vehicle? Do you have your heart set on building a Turbo setup, or would you consider a Supercharger setup? If it were my truck, I would stick with a system, based on components that were all designed to work with eachother. Just asking is all. Good luck, and let us know how it all falls together... and hopefully not apart.
Thanks again Fredman
badchargedboss,
I dont have my heart set on building a Turbo, I would consider a SCer. Honestly though, I am seriously debating whether or not to do anything at all with my truck. At this point I am just going to do the basic bolt-ons (cat-back, intake and maybe just maybe a tuner), nothing special. I think reality struck, my truck will be my daily driver and thats about it. Just the thought of trying to make a 6600lb truck go fast is
. I am just going to keep saving and get myself a car that was made to go fast, and make it go even faster
