Trilogy Intercooled 5.4L 3v - 06 HD F150 Setup Pics
Its not just about hp in a heavy vehicle. You want to be as concerned or more about torque. If this kit uses a Eaton M-112 AND has a intercooler similar to a oem lightning, it should be a great performing and reliable kit for these trucks at the "stock" psi.
The setup is very similar to the Lightning setup, at the same boost levels is making more power due in part to the 3v head. We're quite happy with that.
The Calibration is deliberating tuned for OEM performance levels. There's alot of room in the tune, but we honestly have no intention of blowing up our customer's trucks. We want a nice tune that you don't have to worry about whether or not it'll ping when it's 110 degrees out or if you get a bad tank of gas.
Regarding roush's kit, there are entirely too many variables to answer your question. Weather conditions, tuning, kit configuration, who knows? We can only speak to our own work.
Regarding pushing the boost up, we deliver the kit at 9lbs of boost. People dial up the boost on "L"'s all the time, it's no different with our kit. If folks choose to go that route, they can. If they want OEM quality performance and reliability, the stock kit will fill that need exceptionally well.

I'd love to have my old L back, but I need room for the family, and the wife won't let me sell the kids.

I had a "home grown" Sean Roe unit on my old car and it was a nice and manageable install.
I would love to bolt one of these on my 5.4. Are you selling it as a kit?

Is the new f150 REALLY that heavy? I checked out the curb weight on an 04 L...
Curb Weight: 4674 lbs
05 F150 RCSB:
5.4L = 4811
Id say if you are gonna compare apples to apples, check out a new 3v with this kit and some bolt ons compared to an L with some bolt ons...might surpise you

Couple things.
Anyone who's done CARB cert for California knows what an expensive and time consuming process it is. While there's no reason why we can't get CARB for it, our priority on Carb cert is entirely based on demand.
Kit is designed to be installed by the end user in about 8 hours. The manual, which we'll have a pdf copy online shortly is full color 4x6 photos of each and every single step to install the kit with common hand tools.
As for the weight differences, I'll happily come up with the extra horsepower to get the new F150's moving. No problem there. Yes, they're heavier, but that didn't stop folks from taking their '03 Harley's into the 11's and 12's...
The real bonus here is that it's ANY 5.4L 3v. Want to supercharge the family Expedition or Supercrew? Maybe your Mark LT needs a little spunk? That's pretty cool.

The new F-150 is just too damn heavy. It was one of the reasons Ford dropped the Lightning version of the new truck. It would take sooooo much more power just to equal the old L it's very cost prohibitave. The SRT-10 is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. On paper is should be very fast. But, at the track and on the street, they suck compared to the L.
