Question 04' Procharged SuperCrew On Dyno

[B]I finally had Dynotune in Jacksonville Fl. dyno my truck last friday. We topped out at 360.55 rwhp and 416.921 Ft. Lbs. @ 4864 rpm. He had a problem with it hitting the rev limiter at 5k rpm and said I needed a 90mm MAF which I received today from Mustangs Unlimited. Truck starts bogging at about 4900 rpm until it shifts to 2nd and then it starts pulling again. Shouldn't the tune override the rev limiter and let me shift out at a higher rpm? Someone please give me some suggestions!!!! https://www.f150online.com/forums/li...w.cfm?num=9465

Is the tune setup to raise the rev limiter? The tune will only override it if it's a part of the tune, other wise factory limiters (speed, rpm, etc..) are still in place.

it should be manually adjustable with the predator you get with the kit..........

i havent seen graphs on the new 3V's but you'd probably want it to shift out around 5300-5400.

its also possible that you might be getting belt slippage, check the bracket for belt dust.

A/f

When yoy dynoeed did you check your A/Fs?? Supposedly the Procharger kits lean out the A/F ration upwards of 4500 RPM...the stock fuel pump simply cannot handle the load...Mike Troyer knows a lot about this problem and provided me with the information i am passing onto you...he said an electrical voltage booster "a boostapump" from Kenne Bell (I know MSD makes them as well) increases the voltage to the fuel pump providing more output allowing the pump to keep up with the increased fuel demand, may be necesary if A/F ratios lean out....let us know how things turn out...best of luck!

do not get a boost a pump. DO NOT. unless you like frying your stock fuel pump. i'm not sure where mike T is getting his info, but the stock pump along with the ATI supplied inline pump is more than adequate to supply the kind of power an out of the box ATI kit puts out. and its adequate for the numbers he is putting down.

once again, the KB boost-a-pump is a piece of crap. your in tank pump is a ticking time bomb after using that thing. spiking upwards of 18 volts or so through a pump which is designed to run on 12 is NOT SMART.

Im just passing on what i was told...the whole idea didnt really sound great to me either...anyways, my kit will be on within the next few weeks and we will see what happens...believe me i hope it works out...Bata, any updates on your situation??

*edit* Also bullit, i just re-read your post...for the 2004 f150 kits, procharger does not supply an inline fuel pump...any suggestions on where to get one to add to the kit as this may be a better solution than the boostapump??

did not know they stopped with the fuel pump. bad move on their part.

replace the intank pump with a 255L per hour pump. mike at mad enterprise has them.

I talked to Willie @ DiabloSport today and he said I could not override the rev limiter. He just told me to lower my shifts to about 4800 rpm. I thought that when I initially installed the tuner I was able to override the rev limiter but I don't remember for sure.

That isnt right... Can't be. My diablo changed my revlimiter. I pull to 5500 all the time if I so desired.

Also a guy at trilogy told me the stock intakes are 255lph pumps in the 04 ups.

How much boost are you pushing?

bata,
I think ***** is keeping your truck from blowing up due to the lack of sufficient fuel up top.Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? And on your dyno sheet did it show your afr? With sufficient fuel, theres no reason to have to shift so early..I got a 2 valve and set the shifts @ 52-5300 rpm.Your leaving lottsa power on the table if your shifting@ 4800.Especially w/ a procharger.

Frank

Oh yeah,boost a pump will fry a pump..Get an in tank pump w/ 42# injectors w/ 90mm maf
