Question Question about PCV check valve (Crash?)

I read in one of the posts about a PCV CHECK VALVE being used with Centrifugal Superchargers to prevent pressurizing the crank case. How do I get one?
Right now I think I am pressurizing the crank case which can’t be good, for the boost numbers or for the crankcase.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think I found my answer. I went to the Corral forums and found a post about using a 2.3L Turbo Coupe PCV valve. It has a built in check valve to prevent boost from entering the crankcase.
Still looking for suggestions.

You already have one. All vehicles sold in the US has them installed since the early 70's when all the anti-polution junk was added by the EPA to our engines to decrease our gas milage.

Look for a fairly large hose going to the top of one of your valve covers (usually the passenger side). If you pull it out, the thingy stuck on the end is the PCV. Shake it, if you don't hear it rattle, it is bad and needs to be replaced. Just about any automotive parts place will have them.

larryp,

I know I have a PCV valve and where it is. Mine is a standard valve and from what I understand it will allow pressure into the crank case when my enging is under boost (it's supercharged). I am looking for a SPECIAL PCV that will prevent boost from entering.

Thanks for trying to help.

I saw a Ford Factory part number for that check valve a while back, but I can't find it now.

Its used as a brake booster check valve if I am not mistaken, and you just insert it inline on your PCV hose to keep boost from the crankcase.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but decided to go with crank breathers on the valve covers, its much eaiser and there is no possible way to get oil vapors or oil in the intercooler. My tuner suggested this was the best way to run the PCV system, just remove it completly.

Thanks Marlon,
I plan to run a oil separator to keep the oil out of the intercooler.
I am using a breather on the driver's side but it is making a mess under the hood.

I'm running two of these - one per side - and so far they are working great:

Thanks raider!

Jordan not Mike, that looks like a very clean and affordable solution. It will even match the color of my engine trim.
Thanks.

I replaced my stock PCV valve with Ford PCV valve part no. D9ZZ-6A666-A (EV-98-B) which supposedly has a positive seal under boost.
