Way to go, Deepblue!!! I can't wait to see the dyno and track times on your truck.

I'm currently planning to go with the whipple for my truck, but waiting for the whipple to come out is killing me...

Now is this supercharger something that is vertually maintinance free and something that is ok on a daily driver? I dont know a whole lot about SC but wouldnt mind putting one on the truck. I know for sure I can get a deal on the Kenny Bell SC but am not sure which one is the best to go with for a daily driver and something that wont give me problems. I dont want to put a SC on that is going to require me to change a bunch of other crap and if I dont, break crap inside my motor.

As soon as possible i will give you updates.

Chili 05 can not say it is totaly maintanence free it needs firmer oil changes and yes supercharger is a better choice when it comes to daily driving whenever you step on the gas the power will be there.Procharger comes with a total kit so you do not have to waste your time.Do a search about all brands and you will have an idea soon.

Nihilism Do not wait for Whipple. They are waste of time. They do not have enough head units in their hands if you look at the lightning forums there are still people waiting for their kits.1 year ago they advertised that their kit will be ready by last summer.I kept dreaming for a one that never came true.Their kit for 2004 3 valves are still not ready and even if it would be ready due to lack of head unit numbers in their hand it is very low possibility to get one by this coming summer.Whipple was also my prior choice but i was so sick of waiting i went with Procharger which also allows more upgrades if i want to.

Purpony i do not know what procharger advertises but their new kit has a 3 core intercoolerwhich will make your charger more efficient than the the ones that were so i assume a 60 percent gain which makes it close 370 rwhp with 9 psi standart.

ProCharger installed on 04 F150

We installed a ProCharger on my 04 F150 this past monday. Installation was very simple, it only took about 4 1/2 hours. The only problem I am having is I have a bad rattling noise coming from the belt tensioner or either the pulley. I spoke with tech support at ProCharger today and they were very helpful in trying to resolve the problem. Other than that the truck runs great and is very quick.

Thanks for the info, Deeblue. If it's going to take that long to get my hands on a Whipple, I might as well go with something else instead. Procharger is on the top of my list now, but with all the recent turbo talk, getting a turbocharger might be what I get. Do you know if Derek has any turbochargers available for our 04's yet? I haven't heard of anyone yet that has a turbo on a 04-05 F-150.

My quick answer is yes Nihilism.Derek has universal turbo kits that he is adapting to f-150's but you must talk to him to be exact.By the way yes there are people who are has or will soon have TURBO on their new 2004 f-150 5.4 liter trucks. One example is :

I do not think you can go wrong with Turbo set up .I do also think nothing pulls like TURBO at each gear. But do not forget it is a much serious mod than supercharging,it is not going to be an easy process plus spare at least 1 month for installation (i hope you have an extra drive).Or another option would be to go with higher supercharger pulleys(if you choose supercharger way) to raise boost level and bigger injectors.(that would also considerably be satisfying)
