Angry Procharger Problem!

I need someone's help. I started my truck tonight and it stalled. I then started it again. It was fine for a second, but then I heard this awful grinding, clashing sound coming from the area of my supercharger. I wasnt sure what this was so I revved my engine a tiny bit (1500rpms). And the grinding was louder than ever. It was the worst sound i have ever heard.

Being that I was an hour away from home with no tools, I cut the belt on the supercharger. Started it and it was fine, the sound was gone.

I want to find out if anyone has had this happen to them. It sounds like a gear or a bearing is loose and flying around in my blower, grinding with the other parts. I have a 2003 F-150 5.4l, P-1SC. I have 30,000miles on the truck, 14,000 miles on the supercharger.

Thanks for your help.

If it's an idler then just call ATI. They'll sell you a new one.

Crash may also have a line on idlers, I'm sure he'll post up.

It's coming from the blower pulley. I'll give you a call.
