Basically we're interested in a turbocharger but don't want a 1/2 way, cheesy, 3lbs boost one LOL which doesn't compare to the 4.6 project. I think others would agree with me on this, no?

I think it mainly depends on cost and numbers put down.

If you get a 6# turbo kit that gives you 75 rwhp for 3200

or

If you get a 9# procharger intercooled, that gives you 110, for 3500...Ity just depends on what you need/want.

All these nu8mbers are hypothetical, just to make a point.

Hmm, my cheesy, half-assed remote setup makes 10 psi, and makes a ton of power. Its really hard to screw up a turbo setup. If you want a traditional turbo setup, then pony up 5-6k and built one.

3 psi??? Try a dyno at 7, now Im at 10. Hmm, I wonder If this is good power.....WAIT, its about 330/370 at the crank. Yes, more than you and most f150s on the planet.

StreetCruisier,

Don't take my comment as an attack against your current project. It is by no means a put-down of your turbo setup. I'm merely saying that I don't believe what is currently offered for the 4.2L @ whatever price range compares to what is offered to the 4.6/5.4 crowd. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

But yes, I would rather shell out 5-6K if it was justified. To me, it's "all or nothing". If it's nothing then so be it, oh well..

Boost is boost. I dont know how a tradional setup vs mine is any better really. ESPECIALLY for the price. You can make a remote kit for way less than you think. Pick the right turbo, and they both make more than enough power to pop the stock engine in half. And Since I am the guy that built the only remote 4.2 setup, I do know you are talking to me.
