absolute best s/c for 5.4... $$$ doesn't matter

I am looking for the absolute best supercharger available for my 03 F-150 King Ranch screw 4x4. I am looking for the one that will give me the most power increase and the best quality. I am on no budget so don't hold back. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Please tell us what you are looking for.
Some people want the best 1/4 mile time. Others want more tire spinning low end for short bursts. Do you plan to keep the engine internals stock, or are you planning a built engine.

Also, don't be suprised to get many different opinions. I, too, am trying to decide on a supercharger. Its a tough process, as the individual types have advantages/disadvantages.

If you do some searches you will see many good posts on this topic, but no absolute answers.

Good Luck...

well from what i see, you have a 4wd and i'm betting you would want that punch right when you mash the gas. For that, or even if you wanted the power up top also, i'd definitley go with either a Kenne Bell set at 10# of boost or a Whipple (if whipple ever comes out with one). I say this from true experience. I have ridden in many types of superchargered vehicle (Eaton, Kenne Bell, ATI Procharger, Vortec). I owned a 2001 f150 with an ATI 3-core intercooler at 12# of boost...nice but lacks low end...NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS SAY. Until you ride in a twin screw or roots type supercharged vehicle, you don't know what low down power is. I did like the ATI up top, BUT my choice if i had to spend my money over again on my 01' would be a Kenne Bell set at 10# of boost. A little more expensive than the ATI's kit, but you said money wasn't an issue.

Be sure to talk to Crash for the best deals and most help.

if money isnt an issue get a turbo from crash. if you are dead set on a blower then get a Kenne Bell. there's no comparison between the low end of a twin screw/roots and a centrifugal. this poor little centrifugal just cant do it down low.

but the turbo will make the most power throughout

No budget constraints? 5.4 4x4? Best supercharger with most power increase AND the best quality? Okay.......

First you should decide if you want the most hp/tq. with a STOCK engine OR are you going to get a built block, built tranny, built rearend, etc.

If you want the most/best with the stock engine, decide if you want the lowdown instant boost of a roots/twinscrew OR do you want the top end power of a centrifugal OR or can you deal with the issues of tapping your engine oil supply and monster under hood heat of a turbo system that can provide great lowend, midrange and topend?

If you want stock lowend, go Allen Engine Development (formely Magnacharger) or Ken Bell (with a very good fluid injection kit) or a Lightning oem supercharger set-up. Or get a Whipple twinscrew and have a water to air intercooler made for it.....then you can start selling the kit! Many would buy it!

If you want stock topend, go Novi 2000, ATI or Powerdyne.

If you want stock lowend, midrang and topend, have a custom turbo system made for your truck and have it tuned very precisely. However, be prepared for high heat temps under the hood ( not good for daily driving in summer). People are going to find this out the hard way but, the turbo systems MUST be custom dyno tuned per specific truck or you will MELT/blow stuff up!

IF you get a built block, tranny, rearend, ect. you now open the door to a whole new level of power. Good choices would be:

Lightning oem supercharger assembly with a Works Whipple or Ken Bell Lightning supercharger replacement (Works no longer makes the replacement kit, but the Whipple is the best); or

Have a custom TWIN turbo system made for your specific truck and have it custom dyno tuned.

Knowing what I know right now, AND if this is also a DAILY driver, I would go with a built block, tranny, rearend and get the Lightning oem supercharger set-up and replace the supercharger unit with a Ken Bell or Whipple Lightning replacement blower and crank up the boost .

If this was going to be a "weekend truck", and I had the built block, etc., I would get a custom twin turbo set-up.

Since you obviously like the crewcab configuration, the easiest thing to do, would be to TRADE your King Ranch for a factory supercharged Harley Davidson.
