cant wait to see how it runs, the installation looks VERY professional.

what will be interesting is comparing the 60 ft and the 1/4 mile times, good luck!

It's going to the track this weekend to test it out before we really race next weekend (NMRA, Columbus). We have the log books witht he previous times to compare it to & will share as we get everything noted.

for what we are trying to accomplish(full race) its going pretty good. we do have a lot of learning to do as to what works and what doesn't. we need to go looser on the converter and try to spin the motor a little higher rpm's.

for a street diving truck i would have to say a roots style blower would probably be better for most.

We are purposely starting with the power low. A new block isn't authorized until this winter so we don't want to blow the one he has.

iat2 temps were at 120 degrees after 2 pulls(wasn't watching 1st pull) with no ice in my chiller box. and only 86 degrees with ice. dyno room temp was around 68-70 that day. i'll try to post my dyno sheets when i get home. we will be making a few changes tomorrow.

as it sits now i'm a full second slower.

I would put another air/liquid intercooler inline between turbo and throttle body, possibly a custom spearco.Dual intercoolers would be awesome!

you were a second slower? what did you run?

oh and what was your previous setup (the screw blower) and how much boost, vs. how much boost now....

previous setup was the stock eaton with a 10 lb lower making 15.5 psi

12.007@113mph low 1.6 sixty fts

yesterday we went

13.17@102 2.04 60ft

a looser stall should help the 60 ft. and possibly 4:10 gears (3:55's currently)

as far as dual intercoolers go. i dont think the weight would be justified.

a difference of 11 mph is a LOT of power.....will you find that in tuning or do you plan on running more boost?

its hard to keep track of my posts. were running a 4 inch pully on the blower and a 9 inch lower. making almost 15 psi at 5500rpm's. with out a built block we are keeping the boost down atleast til sept. it is a totally different power band as evident by the 13.17@102mph . we are playing with the convertor lockup some this weekend to see what that does. then we will probably send the convertor out to have it restalled next week.

considering how hard the roots hits with 15 psi and the heat it generates, i would think that the paxton at 18 psi would still have a lower (safer) discharge temp.
comparing 15 psi to 15 psi to me leaves the paxton at a disadvantage be cause it is not making use of its lower, more efficient boost. but its not my block so i respect how you are easing into it.

I agree with brotherdave, the eaton hits around maybe 2000 rpm when the paxton may have around 8-10 psi at that rpm.cents are a totally different animal. If you had a program to have more timing at sround 1000-2800 rpm then start backing off at the upper range I beleive the truck might be alot faster. Can you hear the supercharger that loud at Idle?If you can,COOL!Another thing,If one, just one lightning owner went turbo,I beleive after the others seen his quarter mile times Ebay would be flooded with eatons!!!

i had a turbo company interested in using my truck to prototype a kit(i just had to pay for the turbo) but that fell through. i figure to do a turbo thats setup similar to my setup would end up costing a little over 10 grand. fabrication(intake, exhaust and tubing), time and materials. then you need to figure in the fuel system, injectors and fuel management. most turbo kits dont include the turbo in the price. i figure you would want atleast a 76mm.

not to mention the extra 4-5 grand for the built block. the extra 2 grand for a built tranny.

not to mention the tuning side of it.
