4.6 Internals

I just got a '98 f-150 ex cab with a 4.6. I want to put the procharger p-1sc blower on it. How will the engine handle the boost? do i need to change any internals? rods, valves, cams, heads? Or will it run just fine if I keep the internals stock?

How much HP will I be looking at? 8-9 PSI

Thanks
Ryan

what kind of milage do you have on that truck? If it is a 200,000 mile truck, might as well go ahead and get a new short block....that way you will be safe and can run higher boost.

My 150 is lifted with 120,000 miles. After I get this done I am going to have my buddy dyno it and dial everything in. I want more power for towing and the occasional drag race with a rice rocket.

The Powerdyne blower is $1,300 cheaper than the procharger. Is there a major advantage to the procharger than the powerdyne? how do they compare?

yeah, the powerdyne is cheap for a reason. its not nearly as good as the procharger.

Procharger=more boost, intercooled, better engineered and looks better in my opinion

Powerdyne=less boost, not intercooled, some of the parts looks cheap to me.

i dont want to just come right out and say they suck cause there are some people here who run them and it suits there needs great and they get great performance out of it. the powerdyne is just not for me.
