Looking for broken factory Lightning supercharger (need case)
Looking for broken factory Lightning supercharger (need case)
I posted this in the Lightning section and was informed to post here...
I'm looking for a factory Lightning supercharger that is broken or just an empty case to check if there's a way to adapt these to the Impala SS LT1 motors.
It seems that these superchargers would be a good low priced roots S/C for our cars if I can modify the intake manifold and make a pulley setup for this to work. After reading this morning it also appears that a ready made upgrade path exists via the Blowzilla KB supercharger.

That would be great EXCEPT that I am attempting to make a complete S/C kit for the Impala SS for $2500.00 to work with a factory 10:1 compression motor. I am also looking for a 6PSI pulley set (even if I have to make them) and a water to air intercooler that will sandwich between the S/C and intake manifold.
The reason why I want a broken one or a case is due to the fact that this might not work and I hate to buy something for $700.00 just to turn around and resell it.
I do like the KB S/C as an upgrade path however for our guys that want to build a 383 low compression motor like I plan to do.

Try talking to Dustin at whipple www.whipplesuperchargers.com - they are experts on Chev blowers. For a M112, try ebay - there are almost always a few for sale. Remember that the snout can be different lengths for different apps, so it may be too long or short for what you need.
