Vortech owners

Looking for all the Vortech owners out there. How do you like the units and what mods have you done to them. I have about 300 miles through mine and love it!

I would have to think that the same mods that apply to the Procharger would apply to the Vortec since both are centrifugals.

First, if you don't have one, you need to add an intercooler. (There will be a slightly used ATI available soon) Then, add a 12psi pulley, 42# Injectors, 90mm MAF and a custom tuned chip.

With this, you should hit 360 RWHP.

Can all this be done on a stock motor? Menaing, is the stock bottom end strong enough for all of this power? Finally, who does the custom programming...or what system is used to do the programming? How much are the injectors, MAF and 12psi pulley? Thanks. I really want to take the plunge on a Procharger for my 2002 5.4 and want to do the right thing.

Go to this page of Skids and look at his Dyno Sheet. This is a stock 5.4 with a 12 psi ATI setup. Almost 400 RWHP. http://www.fordtruckworld.com/showow...s=2&album=9759 If you are interested in my intercooler setup, send me an e-mail.

Is the intercooler for a 99-up 5.4? I have an 01' f150 with the 5.4 and if i do anything else to it, it will be supercharging it with the intercooled ATI. If this is what you have them what is your email address so i can discuss this futher. Thanks.

Wantmorespeed,
Here is a vortech w/an ati IC. When doing this setup here are some things you might want to know. The IC will drop your boost by about 2psi, (this means if you want 12 psi of boost you will have to have a 14lb pulley. If you have a 5.4 the fit for the plumbing will be tight. Althought not verified yet, crash is right about the bypass. I think I have been the guinea pig on this one.
